Superstar Zhang Ziyi at ScreenSingapore : ScreenSingapore has announced that international superstar Zhang Ziyi would be joining the movie event along with a host of film industry figures as their event ambassador, according to an official press statement released by ScreenSingapore recently.
The "Memoirs of a Geisha" actress will join Albert Lee, Oliver Stone, Wayne Wang, Harold Shaw and a slew of other industry people selected as ambassadors for the upcoming event.
"ScreenSingapore will no doubt prove to be a meaningful event, a platform from where both Asian and Western cinema will flourish together, promoting cross-cultural working relationships and help bring international projects to an even wider audience. It is an honour to be involved with such an exciting project," said the actress in the statement on being the event's ambassador.
Additionally, Academy Award winner Tom Hanks is also expected to attend ScreenSingapore for the Asian Pacific premiere of his latest movie "Larry Crowne", for the Closing Night Gala on June 11, which will be held at the refurbished Shaw Organisation's Lido Theatre on Orchard Road, Singapore.
To be held from 5 to 12 June 2011, ScreenSingapore, will debut as the first international cinema event in Singapore which will bring together movie stars, renowned directors and film industry professionals to exchange ideas, business opportunities and also to showcase film products.
