Bijoy Krishna Girls College, Howrah
The college was founded in 1947 with an opinion to satisfying the gradually enhancing demand for higher education among the girls of the district of Howrah. There is no challenging the fact that the foresight of the Founder-Principal and his enthusiastic friends bore fruit, with the passage of time, in the shape of this largest girls’ college, not merely in India, but also in Asia. The college, financial and other constraints notwithstanding, extends a plethora of facilities and is committed to the task of developing both intellectual and humane acumen in its students — the ultimate aim being to alter them to make significant contribution to the uplift of the society at large.
